Football team season 2012 - 2013

Callum chasing down the ball

Hey guys it is cameron and callum here. We are some of the members of the football team and we are going to tell you what the stats were from the tournements this year including the cluster league and the urdd tournement. The school tournements were extremely fun and enjoyable, the top three goalscorers were: first Kyle Thompson second Cameron Dury third Callum Lewis (the captain of the team).

The whole team did really well and in the cluster league we came second losing by 1 point! Because we came 2nd we got through the the finals day where the top two teams from 5 leagues play against each other. Again, we missed out on the top two by one point in the group stages! Our training sessions are once a week (every wednesday) on the school playground. Every session we train as hard as we can to make progress in our football.

Year 5 Tests 2013

Hey everyone! It's Katie,Abbie and Jayden here from Year 5. This morning we had a difficult reading test, the first part we had to find information within the text. We had questions like true or false,we also had to choose different options,we had to find phrases and we had a paragraph of writing and we had to underline words. The first paragraph was about bats the next one was about birds the last one was about Daniel and the crows. Katie said that some bits were hard and some were quite easy although Abbie thought it was very nerveracking but i enjoyed it and got through it. We have still got our maths test to do this afternoon, wish us good luck! He He

Natural disasters

These are some models that the children made!

Hey guys! It's Isobel here from Miss James' class, Year 3. We have been working on natural disasters this term. We have mostly been working on rivers and how the water cycle works. The water cycle is when the sun heats up the sea and evaporates the water which makes water vapour, Then the water vapour creates clouds which takes in water vapour , Next the water vapour cools down and rains on a mountain , after that the rain flows down to make a river, Finally the water flows out to sea and then it starts all over again.

But the actual disaster is the flooding a flood is where the water from a river flows over land. Thanks for reading guys!!

maths apps review

Mystery math is a great app because it helps you with your math skills, it`s fun.you have to collect numbers on the way through the house and you have to grab fire flies which are in jars. You have to work out number sums using the numbers you have collected to get into the different rooms of each house.

On the Math master app you have to answer sums as fast as you can to get a good score. You must answer 20 questions as quickly as possible. The best time wins. There are 3 difficulty levels and lots of different maths topics to practice. One of the things you can do on maths master is around the world challenge (which is really hard) and its great for your maths skills!!

Adult iPad Club

We held our first iPad club session on Friday with parents and grandparents. There were six Digital Leaders running the session (Olivia, Holly, Dan, Joe, Taylah and Mason) and it was loads of fun!

We taught them how to turn the iPad on and off and navigate their way around the iPad. We also showed them how to use the camera. We had them taking photos and videos and showed them where to find them (on the camera roll). We then showed them how to edit their photos - they cropped them, got rid of the red eye and some even enhanced the colour on their photos!

After showing them how to use the internet we set them a challenge of finding photos of the things like the Taj Mahal on the internet and save them to the camera roll. They then used the collage app to put the photos together.  They all managed to do it....eventually! Hehe.

We all had an amazing afternoon, we felt like young teachers. We also think that the adults had a great time too and hopefully learned something from it! We're already looking forward to holding the next session next month!!!
